At the Club’s End of Season Dinner last night (April 21st), Life Membership was presented to the Janet Liebelt.  Similarly her late husband Vic was also awarded Life Membership.  The citation read:
“Vic & Janet Liebelt came to HBC from Ceduna in 1999 Vic as experienced bowler-Janet with little experience Immediately it was obvious that we had recruited a couple of hard working club members.
Only one year after joining the club Vic took he role of secretary a position he held for 4 terms 2000/01 to 2004/05. Vic also took the reins as president for 2 terms from 2007/08 to 2008/09. Janet also took up office serving as Ladies Treasurer from 2006/07until 2011/12 until when the ladies committee was dissolved. Besides these official roles Vic & Janet took on many other roles at the club.
Janet with her cooking and assisting at innumerable club events – Vic helping in any way he could but principally assisting Brian Braendler as greenkeeper before taking on the role at Brian’s retirement.
Then with the coming of the carpet and demise of the bottom green Vic continued to assist Bob Edwards with greens and grounds management. Throughout their time at HBC both Vic & Janet have proven to be tireless members of the club, Janet with her happy laugh and ready smile, Vic a man of few words but certainly passionate if something rubbed him the wrong way.
They both been exceptional members of the club.”
