Saturday wins over strong Woodside teams boosted our Top and Second Division team’s chances of playing finals. The top division stayed in fourth spot whilst the Second division jumped into third position. With one round to go against Gumeracha, wins will consolidate our finals asperations.
Jamie Burt had a great win being up by 20 shots over Woodside’s Brett Norman, Geoff Deeble had a fight but drew with Peter “mango” Mangelscorf, with Rick Babidge closing the midterm gap to within six shots to Andrew Alberd.
In the second division the lead changed hands throughout the day with Woodside getting on top only to see our rinks fight back. At the close of play, all our rinks had won their games. Val Deeble led to way with a six-shot win over highly fancied Alex Reynolds, Jeff Thompson won by five shots over Gavin Alberd and Dave Grego, after the lead change three times in the final six ends, won by two shots.
Well done to all.
