Robin Potter returning home

I arrived in Adelaide on 4th November 2015 to visit my daughter Michelle, Son-in-law Jamie and Grandaughter Dani who live in cherry Pine Place, Aldgate.  I will be returning home on 29th January. I live in Weston super Mare, North Somerset, UK which is a small seaside town 30K South of Bristol on the Bristol Channel coast. I first took up bowling in August 2014 and soon came to enjoy the game.   I play for St Andrews Bowling Club in Weston which has 6 outdoor grass rinks (April to September) and 3 indoor carpet rinks (October to March).  Before I left UK I asked Michelle to contact a local bowling club and ask if I could use their facilities to ‘roll up’ and practice.  After an exchange of e-mails I was invited by Christine and Malcolm Keller to come along to Hahndorf Bowling Club.

RobinOn arrival at the club I was warmly welcomed and shown the club facilities, loaned a set of bowls and a shirt, also signed up to play in the Pennant competitions.  I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Hahndorf and thank all members for their friendliness and hospitality.  It has certainly been an experience and I have learnt a great deal, especially how to overcome exceptional weather conditions, although I doubt very much that I will be playing in temperatures over 25 deg in the UK!!  I have been invited to play at Hahndorf again when I next visit and I shall look forward to this very much.

I wish all players at Hahndorf the very best of luck for their future individual and club competitions.  We wish you all the best and look forward to your return.
