Our trip to Lobethal saw our first and second division teams come away empty handed. Christine Keller’s rink had a good win however all other rinks went down. Interest now centres on the three top teams of Woodside (top), Hahndorf (second), and Lobethal (third) all with eight wins and only four points separating them.
Our second division rinks were level with their opponents at the afternoon tea break but something must have been in the sandwiches as all rinks were outclassed from then on. However Hahndorf remain in third position on the ladder.
The only bright spark for the day was our fourth division team have a close win also over Lobethal. Jean Wagnitz’s rink were nine all at the break and went on to win 24 – 10. Ron Bateman’s team were down five on the last end with Ron’s last bowl to come making a loss by one eminent. Ron rose to the occasion and draw the shot. Todays win maintains their top spot.
