At the recent AGM life memberships were awarded to one past and one currently playing member.
Trevor Jacob, a foundation member, past president, selector, team manager and long standing player. As a player Trevor was an accomplished bowler who enjoyed success in pennant competition and was a winner of both the club’s Pairs and Open singles Championships.
Trevor was a member of the committee that organised lights being installed for the top green. During his year as President water restrictions had caused maintenance of the greens to be difficult. Trevor was very involved in organising the installation of the club’s synthetic surface.
Today they continue to be a vital asset, enabling the club to host events such as the Knight Bowls program for the Hills community.
Now retired from bowling, Trevor still maintains a strong interest in the club.
Jennie Benham has been active within the Club for many years and had life membership awarded for her continued service to the club. She continues to play bowls regularly during the summer pennant season and recently was a member of the victorious Division 4 premiership team. Jennie’s Mum, Beryl is also a Life Member and former President of the Hahndorf Ladies Bowling Club. She too still plays bowls and together they have served the club for many years.
