Knight Bowls concluded last Thursday night with the final between Tuesday and Thursday nights winners lining up to decide the Knight Bowls Champions for 2017. The team from Tuesday night ” The Nads” took the night seriously and maintained their pre match warm up with a few ales to settle the nerves, whilst “The Coodavbeens” were quiet, confident and relaxed.
From the outset the match opened up after the early ends and “The Coodavbeens”went on to a comfortable win. Congratulations guys.
Comments made recently from both team captains were that they really enjoyed the game which was played in a great spirit. Both teams will be back next year to defend their “Knightly” titles.
Rinks were full every night with both having a waiting list.
It was pleasing to note that some players supported our pennant teams when we were short and we thank them most sincerely.
The Club is indebted to Knight Bowls Co-ordinator Shelly Howe for her early organisation and Chris Button and Allen McMahon for their management throughout the eight weeks. Also thanks to the support teams on each night for looking after the BBQ, Raffle, registrations and clean up.
It was great to see some of our sponsors playing: Gallery Gifts, Old Hahndorf Mill, ANZ, Nepenthe, Go Vita and in particular one of our newer sponsors, IGA who had the honour of winning Tuesday nights NABA award.
We look forward to a successful 2018.
