Hahndorf 1, 63 defeated Mt Barker 2, 54 in a closely contested game.

Bob Edward’s rink established an early lead and although Harry Sime’s rink threatened a number of times Edward’s rink proved too steady and went on for a comfortable 28 to 12 win. Malcolm Keller’s rink led by a few shots through out the day. However, when Dave Skelton’s team scored a 5 in the latter stages they looked less comfortable. Keller’s team rallied and scored an answering 5 the following end and went on to win 26 to 17. Bill Fairley’s rink suffered at the hands of Ron Well’s team.Well’s team always managed to either sit out the shot bowl, move the kitty to one of their own bowls or simply out draw their Hahndorf opponents who could not take a trick. Fairley’s team fought back following afternoon tea, but it proved too little, too late and they lost 9 shots to 25.

Hahndorf1 finished 4th on the Division 1 ladder and will meet Uraidla1 at home on 17 February 2016 as teams enter the split rounds.

Hahndorf2 met the undefeated top team Lobethal1 and gave a good account of itself.  After nine ends each rink were level or even in front but after that the experience of the Lobethal bowlers worked their way into handy leads. Bill Robertson’s rink faired the best with them requiring 4 shots to win.  With one opposition bowl to play they held the four shots only to have the number cut down to two and being narrowly defeated 17 – 19. Graham Evans’s rink started well leading 5 – 4 after five ends before loosing the next five ends.  After the break they got back in the game trailing 11 – 14 before going down 11 – 23. Con Harmer’s rink battled all day however were overpowered to lose 17 – 30.

Hahndorf2 finished 3rd on the Division 2 ladder and has a bye on 17 February 2016 for first week of the split rounds.
