Ladies Pairs

Congratulations to Carolyne Edwardes and Christine Keller on winning the Ladies pairs over Viki Fawcett and Liz Love of Mt Pleasant on Friday night 3rd February.

The Hahndorf  girls scored a 4 on the first end and managed to maintain a buffer throughout the match. Despite having the upper hand, the Hahndorf team were unable to secure big numbers and after 13 ends had a 7 shot lead.  Close bowls in the final 2 ends enabled them to win 15-11.

Open Triples

This match played on Sunday 5th February was transferred from Uraidla to Mt Barker in anticipation of rain.

In the first knock out match our team of Tim Anderson, Malcolm Keller and Christine Keller met Chris Nicholls, Tony Weatherall and John Corner.  The Mt Barker team got away to a good start but were progressively pegged back until scores were equal at 10 all going into the last of 12 ends.  Our team was one shot down on the head when Christine played the last shot and drove at the jack and followed it into the ditch to win 11 -10.

In the following game Hahndorf met Joe Conte, Tony Treloar and Damien Havriluk of Lobethal.  Hahndorf quickly established a good lead only to squander it when they dropped a 4 and 3 in succession.  Three down on the last end Hahndorf managed to shift the Jack several times, but only managed to score one shot and lost the game 11-13.
