Division Three had a close call when Gumeracha mounted a late charge to get within three shots at the close of play. Hahndorf were comfortably in front at afternoon tea leading by twenty two shots but something in the sandwiches changed the mood and with two ends to play Gumeracha had leveled the scores. Graham Evans’ rink scored seven on the last two ends to get home by one shot – Ron Bateman’s rink was level with one end to play and lost a one on the last end whilst Tom Hennessey held on to win by three shots. The win maintained their second position on the premiership ladder.
Division One and Two had difficult games meeting second placed teams on their home grounds. Christine Keller’s rink got home by a solitary shot with all other rinks having a struggle. An undermanned Division Two side were always going to find the going difficult on Lobethal’s extra slow green.
