Christine Keller’s rink of Michael Wheal(L), Roger Mableson(2), and Malcolm Keller(3) represented Hahndorf at Lenswood Bowling Club, Friday evening 8th January in the HBA Championship Fours.

In the first knock out Keller’s rink comfortably accounted for Tony Mik’s Gumeracha rink, scoring 22 to 7 over 11 ends. They then went on to meet Wayne Zilm’s, Lobethal rink who accounted for Mt Pleasant in their first game.

The game against Lobethal saw both teams put down many good bowls in a tight tussle. Scores were tied at 6 all after 9 ends. Lobethal then scored a telling 3 on the 10th end. Hahndorf responded with a single on the 11th end and with one bowl remaining on the 12th end, Hahndorf were holding two shots and sufficient to force the game to a thirteenth end. Both bowls were less than 30cm from the jack, but Zilm’s final bowl sat one counter out leaving Hahndorf holding one shot and defeated 8 shots to 9.
