Division two inflicts first loss to top team Lobethal (also had two drawn games) with great bowling at the death by skippers Ray Rattray and Bill Robertson. Scores fluctuated throughout the day with each rink having battles on their hands. Michael Wheal’s rink, whilst heading for a big loss reacted to win its last four ends and assist in the overall winning result. Still holding onto fourth place, next week we meet third placed Woodside at home.
Division three won its third game in a row with a ten shot win over Uraidla #2. Con Harmer and Val Deeble had wins of nine and three shots respectively with Allan McMahon going down by four shots. With some results yet to come in, they have maintained their eighth position on the ladder and meet fifth placed Woodside at Woodside next week.
Division one lost its match to Lobethal but not without a fight. Again the lead changed throughout the day with our team off to a slow start, recovering and finishing just fourteen shots short. Both teams played quality bowls throughout the day which was befitting of their respective positions on the ladder. Still in fourth position on the ladder, we meet top ranked Woodside at home next week.
NOTE: The games shown previously on the Pennant Teams 2016-17 as no games next Wednesday was due to the HBA program showing the Country Carnival on the 1st February and not the 8th February. My apologies.
